Michelle Loi (LES Malaysia – Shearn Delamore & Co.)
Michelle Loi was called to the High Court of Malaya in 2004 and specialises in IP, TMT and personal data protection. She is also a patent, industrial design and trademark agent as well as the AIAC’s panellist for domain name disputes. She serves on both the IP andIT committees of the Bar Council and is one of the trainers for theBar Council’s Advocacy Training Course. She is also the PastPresident of LES Malaysia. Michelle represents clients in all areas ofIP litigation and is often involved in precedent-setting cases in theFederal Court. Her experience in IP litigation gives her added insight when it comes to advising her clients on other areas including trademark prosecution, IP/TMT advisories/agreements, and enforcement. Michelle also advises on domain name disputes, gaming and personal data protection. Michelle recently co-authored Chambers ‘Artificial Intelligence 2023’ Global PracticeGuide.
Taruna Gupta (LES India – Tata Consultancy Services (TCS))
Taruna Gupta is Head, IP Governance, Training and Assessment (GTA) at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the US$ 22 Billion global leader in IT Services, digital and
business solutions. She is responsible for establishing corporate IP governance processes and systems for TCS IP, Customer IP and Third-party IP in products, platforms and
solutions. She also guides several TCS business units on IP creation, protection and risk management, and assetization; enabling them with IP and software engineering best practices and compliance to IP commitments, and establishing IP linkages in TCS offerings.
Taruna holds a graduate degree in Electronics, and has worked in TCS for 28 years across multiple sectors. She has actively led and contributed to several strategic initiatives at the
Corporate IP & Engineering Group at TCS since 2012. Taruna has been associated with Licensing Executives Society (LESI) since 2014 and holds the position of Vice Chair - LESI Hi
Tech Committee, Co-Chair - LESI Industry Advisory Board (IT and Software) and VP - LES India currently.
She received the award for IP Star Woman of the year - 2019 at an International IP conclave (Legal Era) and has been on the IAM Strategy 300 list since 2020. Taruna has
been an invited speaker at many Indian and international IP conferences by LES, World IP Forum, FICPI, FICCI, IPR Gorilla and more.
Tudor Filaret (LES Australia/New Zealand – DLA Piper)
Tudor Filaret is an intellectual property and life sciences Lawyer, specialising in advising on litigious and non-contentious aspects of intellectual property law and therapeutic goods in Australia, with a sub-focus on AI and HealthTech.
Tudor works closely with a range of clients in contentious intellectual property proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia and on intellectual property rights enforcement campaigns, and is well-informed about the evolving legal landscape concerning AI and its associated IP and consumer issues.
Tudor also advises on the regulatory aspects of life sciences and HealthTech, including on software as a medical device, classification of medical devices, and on advertising and marketing.
